Question
If you could have surgery to remove memories, would you?
Answer
Yes, I would.brbrTo say that you are the sum of what you remember, I think, is inaccurate. Who you are, at least in part, is determined by what you want. And if you really wanted memories erased, denying that desire would affect who you were.brbrOf course, what you remember affects what you want. If you didnt have any memories, you wouldnt have the desire to erase them. But if you think the desire to erase memories is bad for you, then you might have to agree that the memories are bad for you they are helping cause the desire for a procedure that is bad for you. brbrGreat question.
